Once again I've been told off (by more than one - you know who you are!!) for being slack at posting. You are dead right though, it is bad and there's no excuse. I've been manic busy, but still that's a poor excuse! What have I been doing? Well work, it's manic busy still with the project I've been working on for the best part of a year slowly going live. Since it's on the whole my design I have to take a fair bit of interest as if it goes wrong I'll be in trouble! So far its going ok, but not got to the crunch part yet. Then a colleague left at the end of last week (so ended up with 2 nights out on the town last week). We are down to 3 developers in a team that should be at least 6. I gained a whole set of work I had no time or inclination to do - but hey, I prefer to be busy than bored!

Saturday just gone I had a golf lesson... The week before I went out with D&D for 18 on a par 3 in Wexford. While I wasn't as shockingly awful as last time I attempted a round, I did lose a couple in the water and gave up on a few holes. The lesson was great though. Thoroughly recommend the pro from Old Connor Golf Club. Not that I'll ever be playing a round there, but he was a good teacher. Well so far anyway. I just need to go practice it all now before my next lesson.

I am actually not feeling well at the moment. A colleague was coming down with something on Friday and was still bad today. 2 of them gave up at lunch time and went home. I gave up at 3 and went home to bed feeling really quite rough. Will probably not go in tomorrow, although given how I had to be dead before my mother would let me miss school, it's not lightly I take a day off sick!!

This mornings HeraldAM's medium Sudoku didn't take too long either. Maybe if I keep that up I'll try a hard one... Today was frustrating at work, having had a good productive day yesterday, I got stuck today, relying on a certain vendor to sort something out for me. Only for me to find out that anyone who can help us is on training for the week, the week before we go live, without them bothering to tell us. Fantastic.

I am listening to Saints v Preston over the net. How depressing is it to hear the Saints Radio commentary say "if we can hang on for a point it will be a good point against a good opposition". Am I on the right planet? At least the Skates look like joining us next season (which is a very sad thing to wish for, for South Coast football, but hey, rivalry has to come first). Unless of course we go down again, which could well happen!

Minor disaster at work! I've done the HeraldAM "medium" Sudoku, answered my emails and was ready for a coffee having done a good mornings work only to find the downstairs coffee shop is broken! To preempt the riot, they've left a pot of filter coffee out for free use... Think I've had the most productive part of my day already.

I have received a couple of complaints about the lack of postings on this blog recently (ok, comments more than complaints!) so apologies at how useless I've been but in my defense, Saturday was the first day since before Christmas that S and I have had free to chill out and not have to do anything. Last week every evening was filled with something! Which on the one hand is no bad thing but it was getting a bit much as work has gone manic too. Due to the major project I'm working on being on the verge of going t*ts up. Actually it's not that bad but just a couple of major design flaws being found 2 weeks before go-live - the usual stuff!

Went to the band AGM this evening, which I had been lead to believe was a nightmare experience with hard hat required. Actually it was quite OK. Quite well run and people got a chance to say their piece without it turning into a mass brawl. Everyone was well behaved. Shows how much the atmosphere has improved after recent losses. Although I have just discovered why a certain really annoying person behaves in a really annoying way during rehearsals - cause they are elected to the post to do that job! Someone should really point this out before they get slapped or sworn at! It's fair enough to behave that way when the whole band has had a chance at electing you...

Cable TV is ace! Esp when S is away. I've just watched a Knight Rider followed by The A-Team!
